Special Delivery!

Today was a big day at Care IV. We gained a new family member, Logan, born this morning at 8:04 AM and weighing 8 lbs 2 ounces / 20 inches long. Logan is our Vice President’s grandson. Logan’s arrival brings to mind a topic near and dear to Care IV: Pediatrics.

Did you know that Care IV Home Health is one of a select few home care agencies in the state of Arkansas that cares for Pediatrics, as well as Adults and Geriatrics? Patients of all ages are welcome at Care IV. Often times, when we think of home health, we think of the elderly. The fact is, however, kids need home care, too.

There are 2 main types of home care available to children in our Care IV service area(s):

  • Private Duty Nursing
  • Skilled Nursing

All four branch locations offer Private Duty Nursing services. In a nutshell, our PDN program provides shift Nurses (LPN or RN) on an hourly basis for total nursing care for your child in your home. Our PDN patients are primarily on Medicaid, however we offer PDN services to private pay and commercial insurance patients who qualify as well. Our PDN patients are typically trach and/or vent dependent, however some exceptions may apply.

Skilled nursing is when a Nurse stops by your home for a visit in order to provide a skilled nursing service (examples: weighing babies/tracking weight, administering medication, teachings, wound care, catheter care, IVs, blood draws, post surgical care, etc.). Visits are typically anywhere from 30 minutes to a few hours at a time, depending on the level of care needed. We assign a Case Manager for follow up and to coordinate with your Doctor to help ascertain how long care should be provided to your child in your home.

Please note, in some instances, we can provide personal care for your child as well.

If you think your child may qualify for home care services, please contact a Care IV Intake Coordinator today!

In the meantime, here’s a picture of our newest Care IV team member, Logan:
