Personal care is a specialized service for clients who have limited ability with performing some activities of daily living like:
- Bathing
- Personal grooming
- Toileting
- Moving (bed to chair and vice versa)
- Eating
- Ambulation assistance
- All homemaker services as well
Assistance can also be provided for grocery shopping and house cleaning.
For a person who has Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s or suffers from any kind of confusion or dementia, personal care services allow aging in place. Care IV Home Health provides trained aides who use safe and secure methods for bathing and grooming. The compassionate nature of our staff enables Care IV Home Health’s clients to maintain a sense of dignity and independence.
Other examples of types of issues that would benefit from a personal care aide:
- A joint replacement or orthopedic treatment that has limited flexibility and sense of balance
- Exhaustion from dialysis or chemotherapy

- Transfers and positioning

- Diabetic meal planning
- Taking vitals
All services listed under homemakers, plus hands-on care such as:
- Ambulation- when client cannot walk or roll wheelchair without assistance
- Bathing- bath, shower, and/or bed bath
- Continence care- briefs, catheters
- Dressing- fifting from bed
- Eating/feeding
- Skin/hair care- Relevant with bathing, toileting (no open-blade razors)
- Toileting- transfers, cleaning area
- Transferring- chair to bed, chair to toilet, etc.
- Using Hoyer lifts, Gait belts and other transfer equipment
